Alaskalaska

ALASKALASKA are an outlier.

In a culture where genre lines are increasingly blurred, the previously tribal worlds that divided music largely disbanded, the South London group, headed by Lucinda Duarte-Holman and Fraser Rieley, feel sent from a not-so- distant future – one where freeform expression trumps any need for categorisation.

ALASKALASKA make music to make out to, and then cry about. They’re in the marketplace, and sometimes in the mountains.

“Plenty of bands throw around the term “experimental pop,” but ALASKALASKA walks the walk” – Pitchfork

“Their mix of woozy, Arthur Russell-inspired music is instantly hypnotic” – FADER

“Melodies that hook into your brain with a definitive swoop” – Noisey
