Elsa Hewitt

Elsa Hewitt is a songwriter, producer, musician and vocalist from Lewes. Guitar was her first instrument, after which she began using electronics as a solo artist; she has supported the likes of Samaris, Daisuke Tanabe, Anna Meredith, Cat’s Eyes and Olivia Louvel. In 2016 she won the PRSF Lynsey de Paul Prize for female songwriters and producers and was also selected for the Year 2 Future Bubblers talent scheme from Gilles Peterson and the Brownswood imprint.

In April 2017, Elsa self-released her debut album Cameras From Mars, a ten-track album with a fractured and supernatural essence, fusing tender moments of sincere lyricism embedded with twisted pulses of UK dance currents, meditative sub frequencies, and lofi, textural ambience. Despite her sonic unpredictability, Hewitt’s spiky passion for song-writing remains a powerful and central element to all of her material.
