Luo is a Brighton-based producer and live band focused on combining various styles of electronic music with organic instrumentation.
At its core Luo is made up of producer and multi-instrumentalist Josh Trinnaman, drummer Sam Hughes and guitarist Jake Keeble; occasionally the group expands to include additional musicians.
They have supported Venetian Snares, Death Grips, Mouse on the Keys and Three Trapped Tigers and have received critical acclaim from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Clash & more. Their debut LP ‘Sleep Spindles’ was released on Brighton label Small Pond Recordings in October 2016.
Taking pieces from a wide range of influences, Luo is a melting pot of genres such as Hip-Hop, Post/Prog/Math-Rock, Jazz, IDM, the UK electronic music scene and its many subgenres to name a few – tied together by melodic hooks and detailed, off-kilter drum sections.
Live shows centre on glitchy, hypnotising grooves and atmospheric keyboards, embellished by Sam Hughes’ intense precision drumming and Jake Keeble’s euphoric, textural guitar work.
