Lava La Rue is a London based 19 year old musician, MC and founder of DIY arts & music label NiNE8 COLLECTIVE over the past couple months Lava has been popping up on London’s underground music scene by creating alternative hip-hop / experimental RnB with her collective of young DIY creatives, utilizing her dreamy spoken-word like flows to narrate her perspective of growing up in London from a queer-female gaze…what’s more exciting is the collective itself (whom Lava often pulls up on stage for a fiesta of guest appearances) are a energized make-shift family of visual artists, producers and songwriters (including soulful vocalist “Biig Piig”, lo-fi producer “Mac Wetha) the group have musically been compared as the UK’s answer to BROCKHAMPTON however, stylistically are totally in their own world.
