Do you love your cheeks rosy and the wind in your hair?? Do you want to cover 60 miles without spending any money or negatively impacting the environment? Would you rather exercise your legs than your arms? Well, drop your baggage in our van, pop your helmet on, and cycle to Brainchild with us.
We are very happy to be offering our bike ride to site again this year! We love free travel and want to encourage a mindset of sustainability wherever possible. If this sounds familiar to you, then join us on Friday 12th July at 8am, when we set off from our HQ at Platform Southwark, just round the corner from Southwark tube station. It’s around 5.5 hours long, with breaks and a good lunch stop on route. We’ve re-jigged the route this year to take some nicer roads and stay away from A roads as much as we possibly can.
We’ve got a lovely team to manage the expedition, consisting of two green team volunteers and two bike team leaders. So it’s guaranteed to be a cracking Friday ride to kick off your weekend. You’ll need a basic level of fitness, a decent and reliable bike, a bike helmet, and a hi-vis. You’ll be able to drop your bags off at Platform Southwark the night before, or bring them with you in the morning.
The bikes will be stored for you at the festival, but please bring a lock. Your return journey will be up to you to organise – but we will either transport your bags to Uckfield Station, from where you can then take your bike on the train.
This is the loveliest, cheapest and most most environmentally positive way to arrive at the festival. For further details (and to sign up!), please follow this link: BICYCLE and ensure to include your name, email, and mobile number. We will email you more information in the week commencing 1st July about the ride. For any more information, please email huxley@brainchildfestival.co.uk.
