London-based Elkka is an artist who began her path as a singer-songwriter and has evolved into a multi-faceted producer, dj and label boss. With her music being a cross-pollination between house, electronica, percussive beats and dreamy vocals, Elkka’s universe constantly expands as she immerses herself in cross-genre, warm and hypnotic DJ sets, reaching the outer corners of music.
She’s a founder of London-based record label femme culture, which stands for inclusivity amongst all genders, backgrounds and beliefs. This year they released newest instalment in their ‘HeForShe x femme culture’ compilation series in celebration of gender equality and women’s empowerment. All proceeds from the release will be donated to the HeForShe x UN Women charity.
Elkka’s latest EP Full Circle is wild, and influenced by so many things that we love, including early Bonobo. The combination of vocal samples & distinctive beats that accumulate in a sound that is so completely itself. It hasn’t gone unnoticed: Ellka is listed as one of the 25 artists to watch for 2019 by Mixmag, and has made it onto playlist by our favourite Kieran Hebden (<3).
