Rocío Álvarez lives in Brussels where she made her new short film Simbiosis Carnal, a poetic journey through the history of desire and sexuality, where female pleasure, long ignored and repressed, takes pride of place.
She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain, where she majored in painting. Later, she specialised in animated filmmaking at La Poudrière school in Valence, France, where she directed the short film Écart de conduit, selected for the Cartoon d’Or Award 2013.
