Based in South London, Woom weave music of sparse, melancholic beauty from a refreshing set up of rare restraint. Just four voices and some carefully deployed guitar are all that’s needed to create a fluid and uplifting sound, full of expertly constructed vocal harmony and musical togetherness.
Their first ever gig was at Brainchild 2017, and now we can’t imagine the festival without them.
Woom are a four-piece choir, with a repertoire of covers which each gives the original a run for its money; from Frank Ocean to Patsy Cline and everything in-between.
‘Their vocal harmonies, artisanal in their construction, are fluid, spiralling things, and their knack for an effective melodic left-turn is stunning.’ Loud & Quiet
