Zar (Arun) is a drummer, DJ, producer and generally confused entity. He truly embodies the quality of eclecticism – through drumming in a noise rock band (Muscle Vest), experimental pop band (ONUR), producing experimental electronic & Indian influenced Hip Hop music (ZarDeep), or DJ’ing whatever genre he feels like.
2020 was a breakthrough year for Zar, with the release of his Nihilism remix of “In Motion” which received support from DJ’s Jamz Supernova, Mafalda and Tina Edwards.
He produced for the BBC “Isolation, In Your Words” an album documenting the British publics’s experiences of isolation during lockdown, release “A Little Hope” with rapper and close friend Mandeep., and contribute to the DayTimer’s DT001 producer compilation.
DayTimers is a collective Zar is grateful to be a part of, he was given the huge opportunity to DJ on the DayTimers x No Nazar 24 hour live stream in March 2021, helping to raise over £11k for protesting farmers in India.
Zar has no idea what he will play at BrainChild when he opens the DayTimers take over of Kite Bar on Sunday night, but it will be high energy, emotive, groovy, deep and inspired, whatever the genre.
