We are so so happy to announce our brightest and boldest commission yet – an interactive installation by artist Kristi Minchin and mechanical engineer Oscar Murray, assisted by Natalie Seo and made possible with the support of Arts Council England ?
Kristi’s gone from making the Forum sign for Brainchild Festival 2015 to taking over our whole mainstage last year, and now hers and Oscar’s installation will come to the festival and also be on display at Copeland Park as part of Peckham Festival.
The installation will explore the idea that by encouraging collective movement and play, playgrounds become radical spaces for social integration. The piece will use familiar playground forms like swings and seesaws to trigger a series of interactive elements within the sculpture.
Stay tuned for more updates and ways to get involved – there’ll be paid performing opportunities in the works.
Key dates: Brainchild 13-15 July, Copeland Park 14 September – 25 October with Peckham Festival happening 14-17 September
