The Seder Sessions are a unique exploration of togetherness, developed especially for Brainchild and inspired by Adam Kammerling’s debut poetry collection & show of the same name.
The session and will bring together a hyper-dynamic cohort of truly incredible artists for 90 mins of poetry and dance performance, examining intergenerational trauma and the rituals we make for connection. We will consider, through the annual Jewish custom of the Seder, how all of us can celebrate our existence, asking how far we can push the boundaries of tribal practice and how we welcome new bodies into an age-old space.
Adam will be inviting other artists from outside the Seder cohort to the table, to create and share work that encompasses global stories of human survival.
Adam Kammerling is an award winning poet, interdisciplinary artist and educator. His debut poetry collection Seder was a finalist in the National Jewish Book Awards, and Shall We Take This Outside, a three-person spoken-word/dance theatre piece toured nationally, and Inside!, a piece of poetry/rave theatre commissioned by Centrepoint and the Saatchi Gallery.
