Adam Kammerling’s Seder

A poetry and dance piece by Adam Kammerling and a hyper-dynamic cohort of truly incredible artists, Seder examines intergenerational trauma and the rituals we make for connection. It asks how history brings us together, and considers, through the annual Jewish custom of the Seder, how all of us can celebrate our existence.

Developed from the poetry collection of the same name, Seder is a unique exploration of togetherness. It asks how far we can push the boundaries of tribal practice and how we welcome new bodies into an age-old space. It is both ancient and fiercely contemporary, lifting the lid off a religious practice to discover how it might encompass global stories of human survival.

Adam Kammerling is an award winning poet, interdisciplinary artist and educator. His most recent works include Seder, his debut poetry collection which was a finalist in the National Jewish Book Awards, Shall We Take This Outside, a three-person spoken-word/dance theatre piece toured nationally, and Inside!, a piece of poetry/rave theatre commissioned by Centrepoint and the Saatchi Gallery. This is an exclusive first showing of a brand new piece developed during lockdown and which will be touring the UK later in 2021/21.
